The Shepherd's Rest

The staff first of all were so lovely and it felt like just staying at family home - very accommodating and trusting , they put a spread on for NYE and fireworks and it was lovely, they let us as a group keep the children in till late and also they let us bring our own food in to nibble on as they weren’t serving food so it was perfect for our group of friends to be in a warm bar with room for the kids to be all together and alcohol and soft drinks were served for the adults - The bed was comfortable we were in the family room and amenities were in for us to be self catering It wasn’t loud considering bar underneath Claire the bar staff was so helpful and lovely as well as the other lady but I got on with Claire straight away Susan had another bar and gave free shots to my boyfriend and his friends while they visited there I’m looking forward to the summer as I will be back. Such a friendly pub and b&b will hope the on in the summer but I think if I asked Susan to make me something she would go out the way to do that Hospitality was lovely

Room was large and comfortable. Cosy bar area to sit and chat with a drink. Menu limited but meals we had were adequate and tasty. There was a large conservatory and outdoor eating area at the back of the hotel. Location was great, just out of town but an easy walk into the city centre. Alnwick castle and gardens close, and an easy drive to Bamburgh and Dunstenburgh castles. Beautiful country side.

Very pleased with this venue. Room had everything, including fridge, en suite, TV and plenty of space. Free parking and only a short walk out of the town itself. Food and drink could be obtained in bar downstairs (except on night there was a private function.)

Great location a very short walk from the centre of Alnwick. Room was nice with everything required for a comfortable stay. The B&B is attached to a great little pub which shows sports & serves food. Host really helped by ordering a taxi for me and then went above & beyond by offering to give me a lift to pick up my car in the morning having left it overnight at a wedding venue. Really good value too, would stay again!

Nice big room with a great view to the west of Alnwick. Bathroom and beds were clean and well maintained. The food in the pub downstairs was great - I had a Sunday roast dinner and it's one of the two or three best meals I had in England, to got with a wedding dinner in the Lake District and the fish and chips from Carlo's in Alnwick.
